Welcome Address from the Program Coordinator

Master’s Program in Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, warm greetings to all.

Praise be to God Almighty for His grace and blessings, through which the Master’s Program in Psychology at Yogyakarta State University continues to grow as a center of education, research, and community service that is excellent, humanistic, and character-based.

In its development, this program is also grounded in the principles of positive psychology, which emphasize the strengthening of human potential, psychological well-being, meaning in life, and sustainable happiness. We believe that psychology does not only focus on solving problems, but also on developing strengths, character, and quality of life.

This program is designed to produce graduates with strong academic and professional competencies, grounded in ethical values, scientific integrity, and social sensitivity. Through a curriculum that is adaptive to scientific developments and societal needs, we are committed to creating an academic environment that is conducive, collaborative, and innovative, fostering optimism, resilience, empathy, and social responsibility.

We invite all students, alumni, partners, and the wider community to continue working in synergy to develop psychological science, particularly positive psychology, so that it may contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals, society, the nation, and the global community.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
