To become a study program dedicated to the development of psychological science that is excellent, creative, and sustainably innovative through a Positive Psychology approach in order to enhance the well-being of individuals and society.

Mission

• To organize psychology education that produces graduates with excellence at the regional and national levels in the field of psychology through a Positive Psychology approach.
• To conduct research activities in psychology using a Positive Psychology approach that are oriented toward fostering and developing human quality, capacity, character, and potential, and that contribute to regional and national development.
• To carry out community service and professional services based on research outcomes and societal needs.
• To establish partnerships and collaborations with institutions at both national and international levels for the development of the study program.

Educational Objectives of the Study Program

• To produce graduates who are capable of advancing knowledge in the field of psychology, particularly Positive Psychology, through research that results in innovative and empirically validated scholarly works.
• To produce graduates who are able to address scientific problems in psychology, particularly Positive Psychology, through inter- or multidisciplinary approaches.
• To produce graduates who are capable of managing and developing research that is beneficial to society and to the advancement of the discipline of psychology, particularly Positive Psychology, and that attains national or international recognition.
• To produce graduates who demonstrate a strong commitment to lifelong learning and are able to apply both scientific and practical modes of thinking in accordance with the Indonesian Psychological Code of Ethics.

Graduate Prospects

• Psychological Scientist: Lecturer, expert staff, or researcher in governmental or private institutions.

• Researcher: At research centers or development organizations.

• Educator: Lecturer, teacher, trainer, or motivational speaker.

• Non-Clinical Consultant: In the fields of human resources, education, or community development.

International Students

The Master’s Program in Psychology at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta is open to students from various countries. The program has graduated international students who have contributed to the development of psychology at the global level.
