Master’s Program in Psychology at UNY Organizes Webinar “Falling in Love Does Not Have to Mean Getting Hurt”

The Master’s Program in Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), is organizing an educational webinar entitled “Falling in Love Does Not Have to Mean Getting Hurt: The Role of the Family in Shaping Healthy Love.” The webinar will be conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Sunday, 30 November 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM (WIB).
The webinar aims to enhance public understanding of the dynamics of love and healthy relationships from a psychological perspective, with particular emphasis on the role of the family in shaping secure, meaningful, and sustainable relational patterns. This activity represents part of the academic contribution of students of the Master’s Program in Psychology at UNY in providing psychological education to the wider community.
The webinar will feature two speakers from the Master’s Program in Psychology at UNY. Zaskia Andini R., S.Psi will present a session entitled “The Psychology of Love: Building Healthy and Meaningful Relationships,” while Malda S. Chessi, S.Psi will deliver a presentation on “Family Communication as the Foundation of Secure Relationships.” Both presentations explore how family relational experiences influence patterns of love, attachment, and communication in interpersonal relationships.
The webinar will be moderated by Sofiyah Amalia Diningsih, S.Psi, a student of the Master’s Program in Psychology at UNY. Through interactive discussions, participants are expected to gain both scientific and practical insights into the importance of healthy family relationships as the foundation for positive relational development in adulthood.
The webinar is open to the general public and participation is available through registration via the link provided by the organizing committee. Through the implementation of this webinar, the Master’s Program in Psychology at UNY hopes to continue playing an active role in enhancing mental health literacy and the quality of interpersonal relationships within the community.
